In 1975, despite the recently enacted Veil Law legalizing abortion, a journalist writing for "Le Nouvel Obs" documented the widespread refusal of hospitals to provide IVG (voluntary termination of pregnancy), forcing women to navigate a complex system of rejections, expensive private clinics, and arbitrary criteria.
